These five ideas are at the core, the very heart of why and how we do what we do. They define our ministry area and give direction to our activity.

Parents lead
We serve parents, who lead in discipleship and spiritual formation in their children. Parents are the primary influence in a child’s life, and the church supports in a vital, but supportive role.

God uses children
Believing children are part of the church today and will participate in its mission. They not only receive, but also serve in the body of Christ, and can walk out God’s purpose as they discover their God-given gifts.

Grace in discipleship
We seek to reflect God’s grace to children. Moral training in their lives is most effective in as it is built upon the foundation of God’s grace for all. Faith and obedience grow, as the understanding of God’s amazing gift through Jesus is revealed in our hearts.

Experiencing God
Effective discipleship is measurable, and is accomplished over time through healthy relationships, systematic study of God’s Word, prayer, worship and other opportunities for experiencing God.

Outward-focused children
Developing outward-focused children is our goal. We are part of the larger vision and mission of VCC, which makes servant evangelism a priority.
